About Visio Professional 2021
Visio Professional 2021 is Microsoft's dedicated diagramming app for flowcharts, network diagrams, floor plans, org charts and process maps. It is a one-time purchase that installs alongside your existing Office apps.
The Professional edition adds what the basic Visio plans leave out: the full stencil library, BPMN 2.0 and UML templates, data-linked diagrams that update from Excel or SQL sources, and co-authoring tools. It's the standard tool for IT, engineering and business-process teams.
Please note: Microsoft ends security updates for Visio 2021 on October 13, 2026. Visio keeps working after that date, and your diagrams open in any newer version.

Can I install Visio 2021 alongside Office 2024 or Microsoft 365?
Usually yes, as long as both use the same installation technology (Click-to-Run) and the same 32-bit or 64-bit version. If the installer reports a conflict, contact us before activating.
What's the difference between Visio Standard and Professional?
Professional adds BPMN, UML, network and engineering templates, data-linked diagrams and collaboration features. Standard covers basic flowcharts and org charts.
Does Visio 2021 open VSDX files from other versions?
Yes. Visio 2021 opens and saves the standard .vsdx format used by Visio 2013 and later, including Visio in Microsoft 365.
